Shootbox is a daily photography prompt app. We take your privacy seriously and collect only what is necessary to make the app work. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.
When you create an account and use Shootbox, we collect:
We do not collect your location, contacts, or payment information.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.
Photos you submit are automatically reviewed for content that violates our Terms of Use. This review is performed using OpenAI's moderation API, which analyzes the image and returns a safety classification. Your photo is transmitted to OpenAI's servers for this purpose. Photos that fail automated moderation are rejected and deleted immediately. Photos that pass are published to the community feed as normal.
Shootbox uses the following services to operate:
Photos you submit are visible to other users in the community feed for a rolling window, and permanently in your personal profile archive. You own your photos. By submitting, you grant Shootbox a license to display them within the app.
You can delete any photo from your profile at any time. Deleted photos are removed from our storage.
You may block other users from your profile. Blocking prevents a blocked user from seeing your photos in the community feed. You may also report content or accounts that appear to violate our Terms of Use using the in-app report button. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
You can delete your account at any time from the app's Profile screen. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, all submitted photos, and all associated data from our systems within 30 days.
Shootbox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to request a copy of it.
You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app at any time. To request a copy of your data or to correct inaccurate information, email us at shootbox@shoeboxcollective.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
